Booking and confirmation
On Roomly, paying does not finish a booking on its own — the host confirms it afterwards. Here is what happens at each stage, and what happens if nobody confirms.
Questions and answers
What happens after I pay for a booking on Roomly?
Your payment is processed by Paystack. Once it is verified, the booking moves to “awaiting approval” — it is reserved for you, but not yet final.
The host then confirms it, and you receive an email telling you your booking has been confirmed.
How long does a host have to confirm my booking?
24 hours. If a paid booking has not been confirmed by then, it is cancelled automatically and a full Paystack refund is queued.
You receive an email explaining that the booking could not be confirmed, including the refund details.
Is my booking guaranteed as soon as I pay?
No. Paying reserves the dates and starts the request; the host still has to confirm it. If they do not, you are refunded in full and pay nothing.
Why do I need the Roomly app to book?
Booking, payment and booking management all happen in the Roomly app. roomly.ng is where you browse and compare approved listings; the app is where you reserve them.
The Roomly app is free to download on the App Store. An Android version is not available yet.
Can I book a stay that has not been approved?
No. A listing becomes publicly visible only after the Roomly team has reviewed and approved it, so everything you can see and book has already been checked.
If a host edits an approved listing, it goes back for review and is hidden until it is approved again.
