Host payouts and verification

A guest’s payment is held until their check-in date passes, then becomes withdrawable to a Paystack-verified Nigerian bank account. Listings are reviewed before they go live, and hosts can additionally verify their business.

Questions and answers

When does a Roomly host get paid?

A guest payment is credited to the host’s pending balance straight away. It moves to the available balance once the guest’s check-in date has passed.

Holding the funds until check-in is what protects the guest: if the stay is cancelled beforehand, the money is still there to refund.

How do I withdraw my Roomly earnings?

From the available balance in your wallet, to a Nigerian bank account that has been verified through Paystack.

Your wallet shows your pending balance, your available balance and a ledger of every movement, so each payout can be traced back to a booking.

How much of a booking does a host receive?

The booking subtotal — the nightly price multiplied by the number of nights — minus Roomly’s 10% commission.

The guest’s service fee is paid by the guest on top of the subtotal and is not deducted from the host’s earnings.

What is business verification on Roomly?

An optional step where a host submits their business name, address, state, CAC registration number and a registration document. The Roomly team reviews the submission and approves or rejects it.

It is separate from listing approval: every listing is reviewed before it goes live whether or not the host has completed business verification.

Why is my listing not visible yet?

New listings are reviewed by the Roomly team before they become publicly visible, so there is a gap between creating one and seeing it on the site.

Editing a listing that is already live sends it back for review, and it stays hidden until it is approved again.
